Karen Yacos

Across her career, Karen’s work has centered on community and place. She has worked as an urban and land use planner for a variety of nonprofits, guided corporate community outreach and philanthropy, and helped communities, regions and states address environmental challenges, all the while helping communities become the best places possible.

In all those settings, she has enjoyed building programs, developing strategy, creating effective coalitions, and collaborating with others. Karen is energized by TURNmusic’s goals of making a positive impact on the music world and the communities where the music is performed. 

When not outside in the snow, on the water, or biking, she can be found singing with others who also love to sing . . .   realizing that music builds community in a way that few other things can.
